BeeZone Queen Bees

Our queen bees are available from early October to mid March each season. Queens are normally Courier Posted to you at an agreeable time that

suits both of us.  Suggestions for successful introduction are included with the package.  Our annual production is limited to 3000 mated queens and many clients order up to 12 months in advance, so immediate availability is often not possible.

The other option is to use 9-10 day old Queen Cells, which are generally more readily available, cost effective, and with good conditions, are highly successful.

We have been supplying mated queen bees for over 24 years. 

Our bee stocks are known for their mountain vigour and easy temperament. We have participated in the NZ Bee Genetic Improvement Group and buy in stock from selected New Zealand locations to provide a greater genetic base for evaluation and selection of breeder queens.

We are also Instrumentally Inseminating queens to assist in our breeding process and will rear cells from your own breeder if requested.

New research has proved that queens live longer if left in mating nucs for over 3 weeks before caging. (4 weeks preferred).  As this affects the economies of queen bee production, our prices have changed to reflect the increased costs of slower turn around times in mating nuc’s.
